How to Use Dishantra’s Learning Resources
← FoundationsFind the need, work through it and choose what follows: a practical guide for students and parents.
A useful practice session begins with a manageable purpose. You do not need to finish an entire pack at once or work through every topic in order. Dishantra’s first collection offers five Class 6 Maths topic companions, alongside the separate Question Detective resources. These are independent practice resources, not a full syllabus, live course or individual assessment service.
Find the need. Begin with a topic readiness check, or use the free Question Detective challenge to explore how the student reads and approaches a problem. Let the student attempt the task before stepping in. Note what they can explain and where they hesitate. One response is a starting point for a conversation; it does not diagnose a learning difficulty or establish a fixed ability level.
Work through it. Choose the relevant route in the resource. Read an explanation, try an activity and compare the worked reasoning after attempting the question. The learning sequence brings together understanding, recognising when an idea applies, applying a method, catching errors, explaining, checking and transferring the idea. Use the print version for handwriting or the fillable version for typed responses; they contain the same learning material.
Choose what follows. Review the work and the included progress guidance. Can the student explain a choice? Can they check an answer? What happens when a detail changes? The next step might be another example, a return to an earlier explanation, a short break or a question for a teacher. It need not mean buying another pack. Parents can support this process with a few questions; they are not expected to provide a complete lesson.

These three steps describe how to use Dishantra’s resources. They are not a separately validated assessment framework. The IES guide offers general background on monitoring and reflecting during mathematical problem solving.
